Collies/New collie? puppy

Question
Just rescued a 3 month old puppy.  Not sure what breed she is, (rescued the pup from an abusive person), but was told she is collie or part collie. She is all black with a white spot on her chest. She is currently about 3 1/2 months old and 11 pounds. I know collies, including border collies are larger at this age. She is probably a mix but even my vet isn't sure...except no matter what breed, she is very cute, smart, and a pleasure, even for my 14 year old arthritic border collie.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Maureen,
Congratulations on your new collie mix pup!  Perhaps she could be a Shetland Sheepdog Mix?  She does sound adorable.  I am not sure what your question may be.  If you are asking what breed she might be, I'm afraid without seeing a picture, I would not even be able to make an educated guess. Try going to this website and all the information you would want (including breed information) is available for you to review.  http://www.dogomania.com
Here is another excellent website for dog training tips:  http://www.uwsp.edu/psych/dog/misc.htm#ezines
Have fun with your new puppy!
