We had a shetland sheepdog and she also had a nipping issue, but I used 10 pennies in an empty soda can and everytime she would nip or bark I would shake the can and say no in a stern voice. with in a month i no longer had to use the can and the nipping had stop.
She would occasionally try to nip when she was outside in the backyard and the kids were running around but this was part of her breed it is natural for them to use nipping when they are herding. Anyway once you would call her name and say no she would stop immediately.
