Question
i will be traveling to Colombia to stay with a friend i was told i can't stay no longer than 60 days on a passport unless i'm going to attend school or work and for that i'd need to apply for a visa also if i'd like to stay more than the days allowed i can ask for my stay to be extended, anyways my question is.is there any attorneys or lawyers in Colombia that will help an american such as an immigration lawyer or something??and also i would like to live there with the friend and family because i don't have the best relationship with mine and i'd like to start over in my life go to a bi-lingual school in Colombia, new friends etc...and i'm going to be 20 years old in December yes i'm a legal adult but i'd like to know is there any way i can sign papers or something,my friends mother told me she'd like if i can and stayed and she is willing to help, sign some papers to become my legal guardian etc and also i'm wanting to stay there to live and not return here so basically my question is is there any lawyers/lawyer that can help me with this situation??i do not want to get deported i'd like to live there go to school and just enjoy life etc.

Answer
Hi Domonique,
We will be happy to help you file paperwork to obtain a visa for Colombia. Colombia has different types of visas for foreigners. your idea of getting a Colombian guardian won't be possible as you are an adult, but there are other ways. You can reach us at info@colombianpossibilities.com or call us at 703.652.3850 so I can get some more information and have one of our attorneys take up your case.
Thanks
Marta
