i am thinking about a trip to cartagena,what hotel is popular for americans there?do you know anything about cartagena plaza hotel?will i be safe i clubs at night there?thanks for your help

Cartagena Plaza Hotel is a mid range hotel, safe, clean, nice enough. You can find better options though. Also there are nice furnished apartments that are safer, more comfortable.
Cartagena is very touristy city. As for any other city, be careful of certain places and neighborhoods. Do not flash cash around. Do not pick ladies at bars or streets. Just use common sense and you will just fine. If you have special requests email me.
