Colombia/What is a traditional gift to give at a Colombian wedding?

Question
I am Canadian and going to Colombia on a vacation. While there, I will be attending my friend's brother's wedding. I have not met him, but have been invited. My friend's family is from Bogota, but the wedding is in Armenia. The invitation states it is formal casual attire. I don't want to ask my friend what kind of gift is appropriate as I know her answer will be "nothing" and I don't want to give nothing! Her brother is being generous in including me, so I want to act accordingly.
Thank you, Tammy

Answer
For someone you don't know well, things you can give that would be good to bring from the States:
Any kitchen gadget: Wine opener, cool toaster, coffee maker, something like that.
A nice set of towels.
Picture frames.
Some decorative fixture for the house, candle holders.
Hope that helps.
Thanks
