Question
Marta i don't have a cedula or passport and i will be traveling to Colombia in July is this going to be a problem?
i was born in Colombia but i was never issued a cedula and the passport i had from when i came to the US has expired.
I been a us citizen since 2005. what can i do?

Answer
Hi Juan,
My suggestion would be to travel with your US passport and while in Colombia apply for your cedula. You can apply for your cedula in the US but it takes about a year to be issued, you will get a temporary document called a contrasena, but usually they will not issue a passport with this document.
If you have any other questions you can email me directly at info@colombianpossibilities.com
Thanks
Marta
