Question
what are some of the dances the do in Colombia? what tare some of the names of the restaurants the are in Colombia? what are some of the book they read or make in Colombia?

Answer
Dances: some of the dances in Colombia are cumbias, porros, gaitas, vallenatos, merengues, salsa, reggaetton, bachata, etc. Some of those are typical, traditional, older (the first ones mentioned).

Restaurants: Normally, there are not too many restaurants that are well known in several cities of Colombia since most have a single location. The ones I know in Medellín is one called Mondongos and another at the Pueblito Paisa. The exception is some of the fast food restaurants such as the chicken and hamburger places you see in the US. You will find McDonalds, and the like. You will find a Kokoriko (for chicken), Mavipollo, Broster Pollo.

Books: Some of the most famous are the ones from Gabriel Garcia Marquez such as “100 años de soledad” (One hundred years of solitude), “Amor en tiempos de colera” (Love in times of cholera) and “El Coronel no tiene quien le escriba” (The coronel does not have who to write him), “El Otoño del Patriarca” (Autumn of the Patriarch).

Another author is Dukardo Hinestrosa who wrote “Gaitania Revueltas, rosario y fusil”, “Pasaje a Pereira”, “Las hijuemil y una noches”, and poetry and who also has promoted Colombia in the US for many years. He was the one who had for many years Colombian festivals in Los Angeles and I back to that again. He has the “Colombian Cultural Circle” to have cultural meetings. He had the newspaper called “El Colombiano USA” and sold it afterwards.
