Colombia/Shipping an RV from Central America to South America

Question
do you know of, and can give details of, how to ship my RV, 34ft long, from any port in central to any port in Columbia or Ecuador

Answer
Dear Mr. Charles:

I have not done that myself and I suppose hardly anyone has done it. I have known of shipping cars and I suppose you might be able to ship and RV, but since it is so large you might have a harder time finding who would do that for you. There are boats that take cars and maybe some will take the RV instead of several cars. Very large ships are able to ship containers and should be able to easily take your RV. Just the size of the RV will probably not occupy the same size or a container, but they should know how to handle it. I do not know of specific companies that would do what you need. I know of companies that ship between Panama and Colombia. I have not known of companies that ship from Central America to Colombia, but I imagine there will be some. Another option will be some land portion between Central America and Panama (like the RV being pulled by trucks between Central America and Panamá, but since there would be multiple countries this could require that the tranporter be able to do that. I doubt a transporter could do that to easily since I have not known of a multinational land transporter. You could do searches on the web and locally for information as to how to transport it and which companies are able to do it. I am not in the transportation business. I wonder if you could find trusted friends or relatives who would want to drive until Panama. Maybe you could find a ship that could take it. You might want to go to the shipping docs and talk to / negotiate with shippers directly. They will need measurements.
