Question
Hello, I recently visited Medellin and I love it. I had been planning to volunteer abroad in the spring on 2010, as I am an International Relations Student. I have found some organizations, however I wanted to if you knew of any Humanitarian Organizations in Medellin and whether it is in fact safe to do this there?
Thank you

Answer
Dear Ms. Wendy:

Yes, there are several humanitarian organizations. There is one called "Centrodia", which is located near "Los Puentes", which is near "La Minorista" in downtown the Prado area. It provides food and board. They hold about 200 people. There is another for the elderly located in Parque Obrero, but I do not have the name. I also have a humanitarian organization, but it is smaller. I am looking for volunteers. I currently help families in Pereira and Medellín.

Best wishes,

Cesar
