Question
My great grandson's mother wants to visit her grandparents in Colombia in November.  My grandson (the baby's father) is not married to the mother.  If they both sign for a passport (his name is on the birth certificate), is there any other documentation needed for the mother to take the child to and from Colombia?  Thank you

Answer
Hello Carol,
Yes since your grandson won't be traveling with his child, he needs to write a document giving his child's mother permission to take him out of the country, he needs to give specific dates of exit and return, as well as flight information. He needs to have this document notarized, also ask him to do it both in English and Spanish. The Spanish version is good to have when they they exit Colombia to fly back into the States.
If you need any assitance with the document you can email me directly at info@colombianpossibilities.com
Thanks
