Question
Hi - I am a Colombian born Canadian Citizen who would like to go to Colombia to visit my family. Because I was so young (6 years) when I came to Canada, I do not have a Cedula, and don't have a Colombian passport. I have gone to the Colombian consulate here in Canada, and they have started the process for me to obtain my cedula, which I was told will take at least a year because its my fist time, and they have to verify all of the information in Colombia. I asked them if in the meantime, I can travel as a tourist with my Canadian passport, and they said yes, but previous to that I was given a different answer. I just would like a concrete answer to the following question: Can I go to Colombia with my Canadian passport? and will I experience any complications? Any info you can provide would be helpful. Many thanks!

Answer
Hi Lilian,
Yes you can, I would however travel with a letter from you that says that you will be starting the process to obtain your cedula while visiting Colombia, this is just in case you get any hassle at entry.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks
Marta
