Hi Marta. I am learning spanish and had a question about the way it is spoken in Colombia. In the movie Maria full of grace I noticed that the tu form was never used. Even among peers they exclusively used the usted form, except for one person who was using vos. Is usted almost always used in Colombia? Thank you

Hi Terry,
We actually use the tu version with all people that we know, and usted with people we do not know or in a business setting where there is no relationship already. We also change the tu to usted when we are heck a mad with the person.
There are regions where usted is used most of the time, and there are regions when tu is used most of the time, but in general the rule is the one above.
