Colombia/Divorce

Question
I married a woman from Bogota in 2008. We were married in Bogota.  For reasons I won't go into here, we now want to file for an uncontested divorce.  How do we go about it?  Can she file for divorce in Bogota or do I have to do it here in the US?  Is the marriage in Bogota recognized here in the US.

Thanks for your help,

Answer
Hi Jim,
Yes, she can file in Bogota. Yes, you can file in the U.S., probably much cheaper and faster to do it in Colombia though. Yes, the marriage is totally valid in the U.S.
