Question QUESTION: My dad had surgery yesterday to remove part of the colon that had cancer .Surgery went well ,according to the surgeon ;however he now has a fever and and his white blood cell count is elevated .he has had the fever since last night .Surgery was yesterday mornig at 8:30 do you know why this is happening please help me understand
ANSWER: Sounds like an infection complication of his surgery. So you should discuss this with his surgeon who should have all up to date information of this case.

QUESTION: they have ruled out procedure of surgery ,blood work , his lungs, any anurisms, his chest. what could it be andwhere is this infection coming from
Answer An infection can come from anywhere including himself. But his doctors have all the information that I do not have. What are they doing to find out what it is and how to treat it? What treatment does he receive? If I was in charge I would look for all sorts of things from wound infection to pneumonia including even thrombosis. You have to look for A LOT of things in a situation like this.
