Colon Cancer/chemo

Question
Dear Dr. Nordquist, I am very recently diagnosed, and have not even seen the surgeon yet. I do not know what stage my cancer is, only that there is a tumor that is malignant. My question is: What is the long-term survival, in your experience, of people( stage 2) who forego chemo? Thank -you.

Answer
That not only depends on the stage of the tumor but also on its grade (microscopical picture of the tumor). Of that I do not know anything. When you can inform me on that I'll be more able to do an evaluation of your situation. Besides, if you do not even KNOW your stage yet, what use is there in discussing stage 2. It would be MUCH better to discuss your situation when BOTH grade AND stage of your tumor are KNOWN! Good luck! Sorry about the delay but I have been busy during X-mas!
