Question
My dad had colon cancer three years ago and now it has moved to his liver , but they do not call it liver cancer. He has decide not to take chemo. He also has had two heart tract , congestive heart failure , diabetes and high blood pressure . He is taking alternative medicine , it is vitamin C treatment .He gets it once a week , they inject it straight threw his vain .So my question is now that you know what he has and with all his other problems and him taking the alternative medicine , how long could he possibly have left?

Answer
He does not have liver cancer, he has colon cancer that has spread to his liver. Chemo therapy can not cure him. At best it could only extend his survival time and maybe relieve some symptoms for a time, at the cost of some sometimes hard side effects. However with all his other medical problems it is very doubtful if he would be able to take chemo therapy had he decided to accept it. The "alternative medicine" he is taking is in my experience completely useless. It is very difficult to accurately predict survival times, but an educated guess is probably not much more than a year. However with all his other medical problems it can end much faster - at any moment in fact. I'm sorry I have nothing better to tell you!
