Question
My husband just had a colonoscopy on Friday and the doctor found very large polyps.  What is the chance that those could be cancerous.  Could he have been able to tell if they were cancerous just by looking at them?

Answer
No he can not tell normally just by looking at them! But generally the risk that there is a cancer in a polyp increases with the size of the polyp. Since I have no idea of the actual sizes here I can not comment on that any further. Anyway the size just indicates a risk NOT a fact! So it is best to wait for the pathology report! The we will KNOW!
