Colon Cancer/my dad

Question
The doctor said my parent had a blockage and bleeding after a colonoscapy.  They sent off the biopsy and we would know by Tuesday.  They would have to operate and remove the blockage.  What is the blockage? Can they cut it out and be done with it... or is it really serious.?  Thank you.!

Answer
I can not tell if it is really serious or not, that will be decided by the result of the biopsy which is not at hand yet. But, having a blockage means that the passage through his big bowel (his colon) is blocked for some reason, probably by a tumour. What can be done surgically can only be decided after the result of the biopsy is known and maybe some other checks and investigations must also be done before any surgery can be attempted. Please do keep me posted!
