Question
my husband had 2 non cancerous polyps removed 2 years ago.last year he had 2 precancerous polyps removed.2 weeks ago he had 2 small and one cherry size (all precancerous)removed.his uncle died of colon cancer at 56. my husband is 53. I am scared.

Answer
Well he obviously has a genetic disposition that puts him at risk of developing colon cancer. That is a fact we can not change. BUT we can still do something about it! If you have any children they too may have inherited this disposition which is something they in that case will have to keep in mind for the future. As long as he regularly undergoes (at least once a year) thorough and complete colonoscopies this danger should with great probability be taken care of! But due to his disposition that HAS TO be carried out without exception every time! VERY important! These endoscopies make it possible to remove any appearing tumor growth before it becomes dangerous. That is why they are so important. His tendency to develop these polyps will not stop but will continue and therefore his regular endoscopies must also continue! If they do his chances of avoiding a dangerous tumour there are rather good. But he has to keep it up! Good luck!
