Colorado/When to visit

Question
We are planning a trip to Steamboat Springs in 2009.  It will be our first trip out west in 10 years.  We have two options - the week between Christmas and New Years (12/27-1/3) or March 14-21.  I am leaning toward the March date for weather, fewer crowds, and guaranteed snow. I am taking my wife and son for their first trip out west and I want to make sure it is perfect.  Little worried that the conditions will not be ideal that late in the season.

Any advice?
Thank you!

Answer
This is kind of out of my expertise, as I am in Southern Colorado.  I would agree with you though in visiting in March and having fewer crowds.  Have you checked the Steamboat Springs Chamber site at http://www.steamboat-chamber.com/  You can order a visitors package for free at that site and I bet most of your questions can be answered.  Have a fun and safe trip!
