Colorado/Good Vacation Spots
Expert: Jake Lanier - 9/30/2000
QuestionHope my question`s not out of line here. I`m not particularly into downhill skiing, but definitely like hiking, mountain biking and cross-country skiing. Can you suggest vacation areas up to 3 hours drive from Denver that might not be too outrageously expensive for a long Thanksgiving weekend? Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer.
AnswerJ L,
Most of the ski areas in Colorado offer those things however, hiking and mountain biking may not be available because of the snow. Cross-country skiing is widely available at those places. Dillon, which is really close to 3 ski areas, has a cross-country ski center. It's only about an hour to an hour and a half drive from Denver. www.colorado.net is a good spot to look for these activities. Frisco is one of the cities that have a cross-country ski center. The # is 970-668-0866. I hope this helps answer your questions. If you have any others or this is unclear, please let me know.
