I was trying to remember a movie I saw many years ago.  I believe it was in black and white.  It's about a young couple, recently married.  The husband is a photographer I believe.  The wife has trouble getting him to pay attention to her, etc.  She goes to her mother and she suggest her "secret" book, How to Train Your Dog (or Pet?)  Any ideas on the title of this movie and the actors?

i believe you are thinking of a Bobby Darin/Sandra Dee comedy If a Man Answers (1962).

Although not one of Dee's best-known films, it's a classic. Supporting cast includes French actress Micheline Presle as Dee's mother, Cesar Romero as Darin's father and a very young Stefanie Powers as the wife's friend and confidante who, while just a little drunk, let's Darin in on the fact that his wife has been "training" him with tips from a book about making dogs heel and come when they're called.
