Question
I'm trying to figure out what the name of the movie is where this guy steals a car not knowing that there is a girl in the trunk. She is pretending to be kidnapped to get money from her father, I think. It's a comedy and they, of course, eventually fall in love. I do remember that at one point the two get in trouble with someone(the antagonist) and the father refuses to pay ransom for his daughter again. And I think that the girl handcuffs herself to the steering wheel in the stolen car after the car stealer trys to get rid of her.
Jessi, even though you did not give me a date for this film, it sounds like the 1997 movie "Excess Baggage," starring Alicia Silverstone as the rich girl who fakes her kidnapping and Benicio del Toro as the car thief. It also has Christoper Walken. The film often was screened on TV (as well as being released to the movie theatres).
