Comedy Movies/1970's Movie about printing money

Question
Do you know the name of the mid 70's movie (a comedy/suspenseful), which
had multiple stars, each played a roll in breaking into a mint to print money (I
am unsure why), there was a team of ~10-15 people and the events included
lowering themselves from vehicles into manholes, rowing a boat through the
sewer, breaking into a mint, rolling under laser beams, avoiding staff/guards,
and printing a lot of cash, and them removing bags of cash back through the
sewer, etc. This was an exciting, and eventful movie, however I was young
when I watched it, and cannot remember the names of anyone who starred in
it or even the name of the movie, I'd love to see it again.

Answer
Andrea, I'm sorry it took awhile to locate an answer for you, but I believe the film you are looking for is the 1967 all-star caper comedy, "Whose Minding the Mint?"  Jim Hutton stars as a hapless employee who accidentally shreds $50,000, and wants to break into his workplace to replace it by reprinting the money.  His plans start to get complicated as the list of people who he needs to help him do the break in and print the money just keeps growing, and each one of them wants a reward.  Eventually they do break into the "mint" (actually the Bureau of Engraving) via the sewer, and from there mayhem ensues.

Like other comedies of the time period, it included a large cast--Milton Berle, Victor Buono, Dorothy Provine, Bob Denver, Joey Bishop, Jack Gilford, Jamie Farr, Walter Huston and many others.  According to the Internet Movie Data Base (imdb.com) there isn't a DVD copy. athough you can watch it on Amazon via video on demand (for 9.99): http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001OMSW5I?tag=imdb-avod
There also are some old VHS copies available on Amazon (from various sellers).

Expertise

I am a professor of communication at a midwest university, who has expertise on subjects related to film. I can answer general questions on U.S. film comedy (especially satires of the 1960s and 1970s) and comic theory. I also could answer questions related to specific comic genres, such as comedian comedies, screwball comedies, "stupid" comedies, and so forth. The more specific you can make your question, the better (e.g. main plot details, main characters, possible character names, possible actors, how you viewed the show, etc.). I also need to have a release date (or range of dates, or at least the year you viewed the film). Please do not just provide a set of links to someplace else (e.g. imdb discussion threads). I am less able to answer questions about comedies from other countries, made-for-TV movies, and recent comic films and actors (although I would do my best to find out). I cannot answer questions about specific TV shows or series, "Our Gang" episodes, anime/magna or about film collectables. I generally cannot provide movie recommendations, since what I find funny others may not. Nor will I answer obvious homework (although I will point you to resources to help answer the question, if asked). I also can't help you find movie stars, or where to buy movie memorabilia, or tell you how to break into the business.
