last night we were watching little rascals on Turner Classic movies and on episode 491 Mommas Little Pirate the kids referred to Buckwheat as she and there was another episode tho I didn't catch the name or episode # the kids were sleeping under a bridge Pete the dog gave them fleas Spans5oygkey did a shadow goast on the bridge that scared the kids away. anyway in the second episode we rewound it three times so I'm sure they said it so was Buckwheat a boy or a girl?

nope, you are correct!  in just a few early episodes, Buckwheat was in fact, a SHE!  
later, the character morphed into a boy.

I know funny. My husband knows slapstick. between the two of us, we know most of the funny movies and who stars/directed them. we`re particularly fond of movie bloopers, and can recite verbatim from films like caddyshack, meatballs, animal house etc. huge bill murray fans, as well as robin williams and steve martin.
