AboutBarbara L. Baker Expertise I am a professor of communication at a midwest university, who has expertise on subjects related to film. I can answer general questions on film comedy (especially in the United States) and comic theory. I have a particular interest in satirical comedy, especially of the 1960s and 1970s. I also could answer questions related to specific comic genres, such as comedian comedies, screwball comedies, "stupid" comedies, and so forth. The more specific you can make your question, the better (e.g. main plot details, main characters, possible character names, how you viewed the show, etc.). I also need to have a release date (or range of dates, or at least the year you viewed the film).
I am less able to answer questions about TV shows and series, and recent comic films and actors (although I would do my best to find out). I cannot answer questions about specific "Our Gang" episodes, anime/magna or about film collectables. I generally cannot provide movie recommendations, since what I find funny others may not. Nor will I answer obvious homework (although I will point you to resources to help answer the question, if asked). I also can't help you find movie stars, or where to buy movie memorabilia, or tell you how to break into the business.
Experience Course work in comedy films along with teaching about comedy films for several years; I've also conducted research into comedy films and TV shows.

Question My grandma is marching safely (We hope so..) toward her 90 birthday. During her childhood in New York she watched the movies of Baster Kiton.
I want to surprisre her and to show at her birthday party one of those lovely movies.
How can I find on the NET a movie of Baster Kiton. Of course, I am ready to pay for it.
Thanks,
Shaul
Answer Dear Shaul--I assume you mean Buster Keaton (not "Baster Kiton")? I know of no comic by the name you provided, so if you have been searching using that spelling, no wonder you've found nothing. It also is unclear if you mean a site to purchase films on-line, or to download them from on-line, so I'm addressing both.
If you wish to order films on-line and have them delivered in standard VHS or DVD format, you can go to Amazon.com and type in Buster Keaton. There are a range of prices, depending on what you are purchasing. Amazon.com also can provide a range of shipping services. In additon, sometimes they have used DVDs at a cheaper price; or you can try e-bay or other shopping sites.
If you are more interested in downloading films from the internet, then you will have to do some searching. I suggest going to google.com, and typing in the phrase "downloading movies"--you'll get a list of potential sites. Most of them require registration as well as some fee.
Bestmoviedownload.com looked promising (says has old movies), but I don't know if they Keaton's films. The DIVX movie site has Keaton movies, but you have to have a DIVX player, I think. There were many more which I did not pursue, as I don't buy my films that way, and did not wish to register for multiple download sites when I'm not going to use them.
I hope this provides you some leads. Wish your grandmother happy 90th birthday!
