Question
I remember seeing an old (1950s, 1960s) black and white comedy. Of the same style as The Plank.  It starts with a crew building a new estate and each day a utility (eg water) would come and dig up the road and install their stuff then re-seal the road.  Next day another utility (eg Phones) would do the same thing.  The rest of the movie shows the work crew building the new estate.  A few big name stars are in it but I cannot recall the title.  Please help.

Thanks,
Kym

Answer
First off, I do not know of a film called 'The Plank'.

I love an old film along this line called "Mr. Blandings Dream House".   A couple buys an old dilapidated farm house to renovate into their dream home w/ many disasters along the way.  Very funny film.

Could this be the film you are thinking of?  If not, can you think of anyone that starred in your film?

I know funny. My husband knows slapstick. between the two of us, we know most of the funny movies and who stars/directed them. we`re particularly fond of movie bloopers, and can recite verbatim from films like caddyshack, meatballs, animal house etc. huge bill murray fans, as well as robin williams and steve martin.
