Question
hi! i really want to own all the Batman Detective series that Silver St. Cloud is in, which is most of the 470s, in the process of buying them (individually) i find that 1) no one can tell me when her appearance ends and 2) no one can explain why 473 has more then tripled in price from the other comics before it. I was able to buy 470-2 for a grand total (with shipping) between $3-7, but people are demanding no less than $12 for a base price on 473....is taht reasonable?

Answer
Hi Cara

I don't consider this 1970s issue of Detective to be a Golden Age issue.  It is a good issue though with great artwork by Marshall Rogers.  I am not aware of any reason why #473 should be more expensive than 470-472.  I looked at a few of the big dealers' websites (Mile High Comics and Lone Star Comics) and neither charged more for this issue than the previous ones.

I would watch for the next couple months and see what shows up on eBay.

Good luck!

Chris
