Question
Who's stronger?

A) Incredible Hulk
B) King Kong

Answer
Hi John -

That's a tough question to answer accurately because the Hulk's strength is so variable.  In the latest incarnation of the Green Goliath, his strength has virtually no upper limit as it increases the angrier he gets.

According to the Marvel Universe official website the Hulk's "capacity for physical strength is potentially limitless due to the fact that the Hulk's strength increases proportionally with his level of great emotional stress, anger in particular."

King Kong's height and size has also been depicted with great variability in the movies and literature within which he went from being an ape of around 50 feet tall to being one over 200 feet tall.

So, my best guess is that, if the Hulk is recently transformed and not super angry, King Kong would have a slight advantage because of his greater size and weight.  If the Hulk grew more angry (and thus stronger), I think it wouldn't take him long to surpass the upper limits of King Kong's strength.

Kong would also be subject to fatigue, the effects of stress and/or any injury he might have suffered whereas those things generally only anger the Hulk and thus increase his strength.

Hope that helps.

Expertise

I am an expert on the storylines of most DC and Marvel comics particularly the X-Men, Justice League and most Marvel comics of the 70's, 80's and early 90's. The characters with which I am the most familiar are Daredevil, Iron Man, Batman, and the Avengers. I am a rabid Green Lantern fan as well and would put that as one of my favorite things in life! One thing I won't do is estimate the value of a comic book, if that is what you need check out www.comicspriceguide.com

Experience

I have collected comic books for 36 years and have close relatives in the industry who helped shape the direction of comics in the early seventies.
