Question
My son has in his possession a spiderman #2 comic.  It came from my fathers home and he is now 95 years old.  I can remember this comic and I am 58, so I assume it is the very first of spiderman comics. Any infor as to price, selling this, or any other specific info you may need.  Cheryl

Answer
Hi Cheryl

The original Spiderman #2 had a 12 cent cover price and was published in May of 1963.  Your average used copy would be worth a few hundred dollars.  If it is in very nice condition, it would be worth much more.

I don't think you would have much trouble finding a buyer for this comic.  Probably most larger comic shops would be interested.  You might do better pricewise by selling it on eBay.  I would be willing to make an offer if you are offering to sell it, or also to sell it for you on eBay.

I guess I'm not sure what else your asking me.  If you want me to give you a value estimate, please indicate its general condition.  Include the extent to which it has tears and creases, any other marks or stains, any pieces missing, whether the cover and centerfold are firmly attached at the staples, and whether the pages are tanning or browning.

You could also email me a scan if you prefer at chijae1@yahoo.com.  Regardless, feel free to follow up with any other questions you have.

Best of luck.

Chris
