Question
QUESTION: I HAVE TWO COMICS ONE AMAZING FANTASY VOL. 1 NO. 15 SEPT 1962 ISSUE WHICH IS I BELIEVE WHERE SPIDERMAN FIRST APPEARED I ALSO HAVE THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN VOL. 1, NO. 1 MARCH 1963 WHICH I BELIEVE WAS SPIDERMAN'S FIRST OWN COMIC. BOTH ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.  WHAT MAY THEY BE WORTH, I AM IN THE MARKET TO SELL AND I DO NOT WANT TO BE CHEATED ON THE VALUE.

ANSWER: I am not an expert on the market value of comics, but I believe you have a considerable chance of making quite a lot of money with these items, depending on how good a condition they are really in.

Firstly, check out whether or not you have the right item here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazing_Fantasy

Then check out this site:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_appearance

Exciting, eh?

From these websites, you should be able to track down commercial sites which will help you to sell them -ebay is a good start. But at least you have some kind of idea of what to ask for!

Let me know how it goes...I'm interested!

QUESTION: We have been offered $5,700.00 for both comics from a well known New York Dealer.  Is this fair.  The comics are in Very Good to Good Condition.  Where do you go to rate their conditon?

Thanks,
Bonita Diaz

Answer
I think that they might be worth three times that price.

Check out this website:

This should give you some leads as to where to value the comics and may also give you other useful information and leads.

Good luck, and consider yourself lucky -some comics collectors would die for what you have!

Let me know how you do!
