Dear Sir, When i was younger, probably in the 70's or 80's, I read a comic about a soldier who found a medallion that told him the day when he would die.  So, he fought wildly thinking that he would not die until the date that the medallion showed.  He ended up getting his legs and arms blown off and was in incredible pain for many years before dying.  Can you please tell me what comic this was?

Unfortunately, I don't recognize this story.  I am guessing it appeared in a war comic title put out by DC with a supernatural slant: Weird War Tales.  This title was published from 1971 to 1983.  You can go to www.comics.org, enter the title, and then click on "Gallery" to see the covers from this run of comics.  Maybe one of them will spur your memory.  You can also scan through the information about each issue to see if any of the story names rings a bell.
