who would win in a battle spider-man or wolverine

Wolverine, hands down.  

Spiderman has impressive powers and that spider sense, but his abilities are mostly self taught and he relies on his instincts rather than much formal training. He is also very unwilling to kill, or get nasty in order to win a fight.

Wolverine has been a soldier, samurai, secret agent, member of Team X and Weapon X and his senses are much more acute than Spiderman.  He is also nearly as fast, almost as strong thanks to his adamantium skeleton and could heal from any damage Spidey did to him extremely quickly.

Spidey's webs wouldn't be sufficient to hold or contain Wolverine for any length of time and the X-Man wouldn't think twice about striking a mortal blow or badly injuring Spidey if the two were in conflict.

So, if I had to put money on it, I'd go with Wolverine!
