Comic books (Comics)/an old comic

Questionhey chris how are you doing? i'm hoping you can help me cause i'm going nuts. i'm trying to remember the name of a comic i had when i was a kid. it was a collection of Sci-Fi/horror stories that i were all related to space. included were a version of "the Thing"(like john carpenter's not fantastic 4), a story about people that crash on a planet and hear a "tinkling noise" that turns out to be glass creatures and one where a kid turns into a giant plant creature. any help would be very much appreciated. thanks scot
AnswerHi Scot
The only old horror comic I know with a story like The Thing is Adventures into the Unknown 17. (Both are actually swiping the 1930s sci-fi novella "Who Goes There?" by John Campbell.)
However, I looked at my copy and didn't find stories consistent with the other plots you mention. In fact, the other stories don't have any sci-fi elements at all.
People often turned into plants in 50s horror comics. The glass aliens plot doesn't ring a bell for me at all.
Good luck. If you think of any more details of the comic (the publisher, the cover drawing, what year it was probably published, etc.), let me know as that might help narrow down the search.
