Comic books (Comics)/DC/Marvel

QuestionQUESTION: Superman is DC comics, and the Hulk is Marvel comics. Yet the two have fought each other. How does this work? Do the writers of the two comics collaborate together and draw the comic?
How do beings from the different universes meet each other?
Which Star Trek beings could destroy Captain America's shield? I read online that only those who can alter matter could do so.
Has Batman ever fought the Hulk or Spiderman? Has Spiderman ever fought Superman or the Hulk?
Molecule Man vs. Organian
In yesterday's newspaper comics, Wolverine sliced off one of Dr. Octopus' metal tentacles. Could Wolverine slice Data's head or arm off?
Data vs. Dr. Octopus
Tall Apollo vs. Hulk
ANSWER: Hi John -
Yes, every once in a while the 'bigshots' from DC and Marvel used to get together and publish joint comics with things like Superman taking on the Hulk or Spider-Man meeting Batman. We don't see that too much at all these days for various business and legal reasons but in the late 70's and sporadically through the 80's you would sometimes see such collaborations.
Exactly, Cap's shield is an Adamantium alloy of some kind that was constructed using particle 'cutters' so only beings like Q, Trelane or a really advanced Ocampa who can manipulate matter at the molecular level would have much chance of destroying it.
Now, toss the thing into the sun I'm sure it would melt, but for a being to destroy it independent of an outside source that interferes with the molecules, they would need to be able to manipulate matter.
I don't recall Batman ever taking on the Hulk or Spider-Man. Spider-Man has fought the Hulk on numerous occasions throughout both characters histories but I can't recall him fighting Superman.
The Organians are tough because there is some evidence that their true natures might be as beings of energy. If that is the case then the Molecule Man couldn't do much to them as his abilities only affect matter.
According to the literature in the X-Men comics Wolverine's claws are capable of slicing through most anything other than Adamantium and Capt's shield. The only consideration would be the amount of force he would need to generate, which is considerable given his musculature and the skeletal support of his Adamantium skeleton.
So, my guess is the wouldn't have any trouble slicing Data's head off. In Uncanny X-Men #139 we see him easily slicing through the metal wall in the X-Men's Danger Room, so, if he could do that I doubt Data's noggin would present a problem.
Given Data's speed and strength I'd bet he could get past Doc Ock's tentacles and knock the mad scientist out.
Well we know Apollo eventually tires and that the Hulk only continues to gain strength the madder he gets.
In one of the early Incredible Hulk annuals (#7 I think) the Hulk successfully took on and wrecked the heck out of a Master Mold Sentinel and, if he could do that, I doubt Apollo would last too long against him.
Thanks!

QUESTION: Probably my computer's fault.
How would the 100,000 amps from "Disaster" affect the following?
A) Wolverine
B) Superman
C) Hulk
D) Thor
E) Captain America
F) Electro
AnswerHi John -
A) Wolverine is hard to judge since his ability to heal himself has been depicted so inconsistently throughout his history.
In the original Wolverine miniseries it took him a few months to heal after a sword battle with Lord Shingen, but a few years later when the X-Men went to Japan (X-Men #172) he's seen healing from gunshot wounds and lethal poisoning within a few hours.
So it's hard to say and as soon as I do, here come the critics!
At a guess I would probably say the voltage would give Wolvie quite a jolt, maybe even stop his heart and render him unconscious, but I think he'd survive.
B) Superman - It shouldn't bother him at all. If he can fly through suns and resist the heat, gravity and radiation of a living star, then electricity shouldn't be a problem.
C) Hulk - It depends on how mad he was and how strong his anger had allowed him to become. I have comic issues that both show Hulk withstanding electrical current at that rate and others that show him being knocked unconscious and reverting to his human form.
D) Thor - I never got into Thor for some reason but from what little I know from reading the Avengers I doubt it would cause him much physical damage. He might get knocked for a loop and dazed, but I don't think much past that would happen.
E) Cap - Cap is basically a normal human being with no powers. His strength, coordination, agility and skills with martial arts are at the very pinnacle of human development thanks to the Super Soldier Serum that changed his body, and he can perform better than the finest Olympic level athletes, but he's still human and a jolt like that would most likely kill him.
F) Electro - As with Thor, I don't know much about Electro (I could never stand that goofy mask he wore, even as a kid), but if he can metabolize and control electricity I doubt a jolt like that would kill him. It might cause his unique body to overload however and I doubt he could absorb and utilize that much current even with his powers. (That's a guess)
Thanks!
