Questionhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YY6zSRKA7xY
In the above clip, at 35 seconds, Hulk smashes a huge boulder twice on top of Wolverine. What effect would that have on the following? (I personally believe that, if Wolverine was messed up the way he was, many in this list would simply be killed.)
A) Data
B) Nomad (shields up)
C) Nomad (shields down)
D) Gorn
E) Superman
F) Thor
G) Hulk clone
H) Tall Apollo
I) Species 8472
J) Borg drone
K) Odo
L) Armus
M) Excalbian
N) Horta
O) Crystalline Entity
P) Tin Man
Q) Enterprise-D shuttle
R) Defiant
S) Taurean
T) Roga Danar
U) Khan
V) Power Play O'Brien
W) Phoenix
X) Batmobile
Y) Tribble
AnswerHi John -
Wow, Wolverine got thrown a beating in that clip!
Some of the issues I have with the clip are, why didn't Wolverine get punched right through the ground when Hulk was punching him?
Also, in the comic books when the two have fought Wolverine has remarked that Hulk's wounds heal the instant they are inflicted, healing even as Wolvie is cutting him.
So, since we see Hulk's blood spurting all over the place, did the creators of the comic use a weaker version of the Hulk than what is typically depicted in the mags? I dunno. Anyway here are my thoughts.
A) Data - Presumably the only reason Wolverine wasn't crushed to death by the rocks was because of his admantium skeleton. I can't believe that Data's body is stronger than adamantium so I think he'd suffer massive system trauma and permanent loss of function. So long as his head remained intact most of his memories and personality would still be recoverable, but that would be an awful lot of trauma to withstand.
B) Nomad - With his shields up I doubt Nomad would suffer too much. In order to travel in space the probe must have shielding that can withstand the impact of micro meteorites moving at incredible velocities and therefore generating a tremendous amount of force. I think his shields would be reduced to pretty low 'wattage' after such an impact, but I think he'd survive.
C) Nomad (no shields) - My guess is he'd be crushed!
D) Gorn - I think a Gorn would suffer massive skeletal and organ trauma and probably would die.
E) Superman - In the Superman vs. Hulk comic book Supes was depicted as much stronger than the Hulk so I think he'd survive just fine.
F) Thor - I'm not too familiar with Thor but from what I know I think he would be strong enough to survive and probably continue fighting the Hulk.
G) Hulk Clone - Given the level of force I think a Hulk Clone would be momentarily dazed, but would probably keep fighting.
H) Tall Apollo - I think the impact would be jarring and cause injury, but wouldn't necessarily kill Apollo if he was taller.
I) 8472 - Given the level of force that the Hulk slamming a boulder down must generate, I think even 8472 would be crushed.
J) Drone - crushed like an empty soda can!
K) Odo - Given his liquid like nature I think the impact might scatter his molecules a bit, but I believe he could reform (like the T-1000 did in Terminator 2) pretty quickly.
L) Armus - From what I saw Armus appeared to have a pretty fluid nature like Odo, so I think his molecules would scatter, but that he'd be okay.
M) Excalbian - I'd imagine the Excalbian would suffer some trauma to its internal organs and maybe lose some of its outer epidermis, but I think it would survive.
N) Horta - I think the Horta would have a similar reaction as the Excalbian.
O) Entity - Like Nomad, if the Entity can travel in space it must have some impressive means to withstand the impacts of micro meteorites traveling at high velocity. So, I think some of its crystalline matrix might get damaged, but doubt the impact would cause it major trauma.
P) Tin Man - Pretty much the same as the Entity. It might suffer slight damage to its outer 'casing' but that would be about it.
Q) D- Shuttle - if the shields were up the shuttle would probably suffer massive loss of power to them. If not I think the hull might have a serious dent but would probably hold.
R) Defiant - I think it would have a similar occurrence as the D-Shuttle.
S) Taurean - The Taurean would suffer a pretty serious concussion, dermal abrasions, bruiseing and massive skeletal trauma, but would probably survive.
T) Danar - I think he'd be killed.
U) Khan - crushed like tomatoes under the feet!
V) O'Brien - crushed like Pico de Gallo.
W) Phoenix - She could probably erect some type of shield to keep herself from suffering any physical harm.
X) Batmobile - Robin and Batgirl would be selling its parts to the Gotham City Salvage Yard.
Y) Tribble - Given their natural invincibility and ability to control both matter and energy I think the lone Tribble would survive and utilize its mental abilities to calm and Hulk and, while allowing him to retain his preternatural strength, turn the Green Goliath into a kinder, gentler Hulk.
Thanks!
