Question
got a superman record with read along comic from 1976,like to know if it has any value?

Answer
Hi Lucas -

I thought I was the only person in the world who had one of those!

For a long time the record/comics were pretty much ignored by the comic book hobbyists at large, but within the last five years interest in finding those things has increased.

I've seen them popping up at comic conventions and on line ranging in prices anywhere from $5.00 to $20.00 and have scoured the Internet looking for a definitive price guide similar to those that exist for comics.

I've got Superman, two Batman, Spiderman, 2 Star Trek and a Wonder Woman in my collection that came with the 45 record and the accompanying comic book.

Ordinarily the comics wouldn't be worth too much but, since the items are rare and hard to find with the records intact they've been creeping up in value and, I suspect, will continue to do so since (so far as I know) records aren't really being made too much anymore.

My best advice would be to look at eBay and some other auction sites and see if you can get a feel for the value.  Typically the higher range of anything having anything to do with comics it ridiculously high so chop 20% off that and you can generally get a pretty solid estimate of value.

That's kind of a 'flying by the seat of the pants' type of estimate but I've used it before in regards to comics and graphic novels and come pretty close to what my contacts at the local comic stores say is probably a good estimate.

Thanks, this question brought back memories of listening to those things for hours when I was a young kid!

Expertise

I am an expert on the storylines of most DC and Marvel comics particularly the X-Men, Justice League and most Marvel comics of the 70's, 80's and early 90's. The characters with which I am the most familiar are Daredevil, Iron Man, Batman, and the Avengers. I am a rabid Green Lantern fan as well and would put that as one of my favorite things in life! One thing I won't do is estimate the value of a comic book, if that is what you need check out www.comicspriceguide.com

Experience

I have collected comic books for 36 years and have close relatives in the industry who helped shape the direction of comics in the early seventies.
