Question
Hi Brian,
I was just going over my brother's old comic book and came across The Cheyenne Kid #93 with a double cover. Is it worth anything? Thanks for your time.

Answer
Hi, Pamela - thanks for your question!  And pardon my lateness, my vacation wasn't saved in the AllExperts.com preferences for some reason.  Anyway, on to your question.

To be honest, the printing mistake doesn't necessarily mean an improvement in value, however, it does increase the likelihood that the inside cover has been more protected and is - as a result - in better condition than other comics from the same period.

Grade/Condition is important in comics values.  In Near Mint condition, this comic would be valued by the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide at about $14.00 - the double cover might possibly bring further interest, as well.

I recommend that you obtain information about the comic and grade it using the tools I link to on my site:

http://www.metropolisplus.com/comicsbasics.htm

That should get you started and also help you decide what you'd like to do with the book (have it professionally graded, store it properly as a keepsake, sell it, etc.).

Once you've done that - if you feel you'd like to sell it, I recommend Heritage Auctions for consigning a sale, as they usually have the best bidders and returns - at least, better than eBay or some of the other auction sites around.  Their website is:

I hope this is helpful to you - if you have any further questions, please feel free to let me know!

Expertise

I`ve been collecting comics for over 40 years and am able to answer most questions regarding comics, creators, fandom and the industry from the Golden Age through to today`s comics, with an emphasis on super and action heroes and most of my expertise ranges in the Silver to Modern Ages. My expertise lies in DC Comics/National Periodical Publications, although my general knowledge extends well into Marvel, Tower, Archie, Charlton & many of the "Independent" companies that began in the late 70`s & 80`s. I do have some knowledge of the Western, Funny Animals, Romance and other genres, but to a lesser degree, so please don't grade me on specific knowledge of these areas if you choose to ask me questions on those topics.
