The issue in question had several stories... one involved an alien coming to Earth and using the United Nations to challenge earthlings to contests. One journalist challenges the alien to see who can sleep the longest in order to save Earth.

Another story had an alien add its leader to Mt. Rushmore.

There may have been a cover story that involved aliens that look like praying mantis'.

Any help would be appreciated!

Normally I would be able to pinpoint something like this, but the reason I haven't got back to you sooner is that I haven't found, despite extensive searching, anything helpful.

I will keep looking though as this bugs me.
