This is years-long quest to find a comic, which *may* be an early 70s Marvel reprint of an older 50s-60s original (or it could be DC or Dell).

Any help is appreciated - even if it just is telling me who you may think can now this answer...

I will be honest: I have no idea where this story could have been published.

If this is a horror short story, you may want to check DC's House of Mystery or House of Secrets. If you had the name of the artist, you might be able to find it at : www.comicbookdb.com.

That said, from the look of it, it looks like a Sci Fi story and I am not a specialist in Sci-Fi short stories. Did you try looking into Strange Adventures books?
