Question
i recently watched the x-men origins: wolverine movie and was wondering just how close to the comics that movie is, i was also wondering what the name of the x-men show was where it showed all of the mutants when they were teenagers and i would also like to know where u learned all of your x-men knowlegde

Answer
Hey Mike,

WOLVERINE: ORIGINS MOVIE
The Wolverine movie was pretty good but was quite different from the real history of Wolverine.  For instance, Wolverine and Sabretooth (Victor Creed) are not brothers, Wade Wilson (Deadpool) was not part of Wolverine's Weapon X squad, Fred Dukes (Blob) and Wolverine were never teammates or friends, Gambit and Wolverine never met each other before they joined the X-Men, Cyclops and Emma Frost were never prisoners in Stryker's lab, and Stryker wasn't the person who gave Wolverine his adamantium skeleton.  The movie is quite different from the actual story but the basic story is there.

TEEN X-MEN SHOW
If you're referring to the cartoon, I think you're talking about X-Men Evolution, which had people like Cyclops, Jean, Nightcrawler, and Shadowcat as teens with Xavier, Wolverine, Storm, and Beast as their instructors.  The series ran for a total of four seasons (52 episodes) from November 2000 until October 2003.

X-MEN KNOWLEDGE
I've been interested in and collecting X-Men comics for the past 17 years.  So, you can imagine that I've learned a lot over that time.  I initially got all my info just from reading every issue I could get my hand on as well as reading past stories in trade paperbacks (like the Dark Phoenix Saga, Inferno, Mutant Massacre, Fall of the Mutants, etc.).  This was before the internet so I didn't have a website I could go to and learn all this stuff, I had to learn it as I went.  Today, there's an amazing website that has information on everything you need to know about the X-Men and their stories, from issue summaries, to character bios, and everything in between.  Be sure to check it out: www.uncannyxmen.net.

Hope that helps,

K

Expertise

As a hardcore X-Men fan, I can answer any question about Marvel's Mighty Mutants. I can also answer questions about the spin-off groups (X-Factor, New Mutants/X-Force, Excalibur, Generation X, New X-Men, and the other many incarnations). I specialize in the X-universe but I can answer a lot of Marvel questions as well. Make Mine Marvel. In addition to the comics, I can answer questions about the X-Men cartoons (TAS from the 90s and Evolution) as well as the X-Men feature films. I don't have any expertise or knowledge of the DC Universe.

Experience

I have the entire run of UNCANNY X-MEN (from the first issue in September 1963) up to today. I also have a huge portion of (adjectiveless) X-Men (the second series), X-Factor (volumes 1 and 2), X-Force, Excalibur (volume 1, some of volume 2, some of New Excalibur); Generation X; and New X-Men. I have very few issues of New Mutants but I am proficient in my New Mutants knowledge.
