Question
i have just started going through a very large collection of aquaman comic books. i would like to sell them but don't know what to ask for them,. Can you help?

Answer
Hi Louis

Aquaman appeared for many years as a back-up character in various titles before finally getting his own comic title in the 60s.  Since the 60s, there have been a number of different titles featuring Aquaman over the years.

The older comics with Aquaman as a back-up character could be pretty valuable.  The original Aquaman title from the 60s is also pretty valuable, especially the first several issues.  Later comics from the 80s and 90s and 00s probably would be hard to sell for $1 each.

You are welcome to send me a list of some of the issues to get a sense of what might be valuable.  I would need to know the title, the issue number, and a description of the condition.

You can also look online at www.nostomania.com for some pricing information, or buy a comic book pricing guide at any comic shop or most major bookstores.  The most popular is the Overstreet Comic Price Guide and will cost around $25.  Nostomania will require you to sign up and create an account but there is no fee to do so.  However, the prices for high-condition copies are way too high on this site so just pay attention to the lower end prices.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Expertise

I have extensive knowledge on comic books published from 1897 through 1975. My knowledge goes beyond superheroes to include early strip reprints from 1897-1930 or so, science fiction, horror comics of the 50s and 70s, love, crime, satire and other genres. I can provide advice on buying or selling comics as well as answering general queries.

Experience

I am a longtime collector and occasional seller of older comics.
