Comic books (Comics)/older comics viewed online
Expert: Chris Brown - 12/28/2010
QuestionQUESTION: Hi. I've been wondering off and on for some years now if old comics are viewable online. I'm not a collector, though I still have my childhood comics (early 60s Spiderman, Sgt. Rock. etc.; complete set of Creepy), but I know I missed lots of (what I once considered at least) good stuff. Surely their are yellowing pages that have been out of their plastic sheaths long enough to be scanned! Digital reading rooms?? It would also be nice to have a guide to the best stuff of any age. -J.S.
ANSWER: Hi Jim
There is a site I am familiar with that offers scans of a lot of old comics from the 40s and 50s that are no longer copyright protected. It is
http://www.goldenagecomics.co.uk/
While I have heard that people upload newer comics just as they do music, I am not familiar with where you would go to gain access to these downloads.

AnswerHi Jim
Sorry I am not a good person to go to with computer questions. I know that the site does require you to have a certain comic-reading program installed in order to be able to download and view the comics therein. I think their FAQ section and technical support can be much more helpful to you than I can though.
