Question

Hulk
I have a Hulk comic book from 1988 (Vicious Circle #340). It appears to be signed by T. McFarlane. The signature is in a gold metallic ink. How do I know if it is authentic? What value woulc it have?

Answer
The signature does look like McFarlane's.  I would guess it is his, unless someone else is pretty good at forging signatures.  McFarlane does not appear to be too shy about giving out his signature, as there are several comics signed by him on the cover currently offered for sale on eBay.

There is no standard price for signed comics.  It's really just what a buyer might pay, which in the case of a living artist like McFarlane, probably won't be a huge premium.  This Hulk issue is pretty collectible though--it lists for $40 in mint condition.  Your copy looks somewhat worn though--it seems like there might be some bending of the cover by the spine.  That would knock it down to $10 or $15, plus whatever premium you might get for the signature.
