I am having trouble finding information and value on a group of Star Wars comics #4,5,6 in a package 3 for 99 cents. Individual copies say 35 cents. I also did not know if it was better to keep the package closed or open it to get more information. I have sent copy of just the top if you need more let me know. Thanks Donna
Answer Their value as a whole is not any different than their value as single issues. I wouldn't recommend keeping them in the package any longer than necessary. The package deteriorates over time and will yellow the comics, decreasing their value terribly.
These are second prints. They have a diamond price box, priced at 35 cents each. They do have some slight individual value over their cover price. If they were still in Mint to Near Mint condition (I don't expect so, however, being that they've been in polypropylene for 33 years), they'd be worth approximately $5, $4 and $2, respectively. Overstreet Price Guide is the best resource for this information - you can read more about how to locate one on my basic collecting information site at:
www.metropolisplus.com/COMICSBASICS.htm
Here is an online price guide, in the meantime:
www.comicspriceguide.com
Any lesser condition would be subject to a formal grading, my site above will give you the basics, as well as an online tool with which you should be able to conduct more formal grading.
Hope that's helpful - let me know if you have any other questions!

I`ve been collecting comics for over 40 years and am able to answer most questions regarding comics, creators, fandom and the industry from the Golden Age through to today`s comics, with an emphasis on super and action heroes and most of my expertise ranges in the Silver to Modern Ages. My expertise lies in DC Comics/National Periodical Publications, although my general knowledge extends well into Marvel, Tower, Archie, Charlton & many of the "Independent" companies that began in the late 70`s & 80`s. I do have some knowledge of the Western, Funny Animals, Romance and other genres, but to a lesser degree, so please don't grade me on specific knowledge of these areas if you choose to ask me questions on those topics.
