Question
I have a copy of The Donkey's Tale (Classics Illustrated Junior No. 542, published by Gilberton Co. in 1965) with a double cover.  The 1st cover has some fading, but the 2nd cover has nice vibrant colors.  Is this a rare thing?  How does this effect the value of the comic?  If I wanted to sell it (it's in great condition), should I take it somewhere local, or go the eBay route?  What would you recommend?  (If I need to send pics, let me know and I'll get some taken for you.) Thanks

Answer
Hi Mitch,

Not all that common but it does happen.  There is usually a higher demand for comics with a double-cover depending on the title and the overall grade of comic (taking into consideration the condition of the exterior and interior covers).

I would check out comicspriceguide.com to determine what the value of that particular issue is.  Then do a search on eBay to see if similar items have been listed and what prices were realized.  This will give you some indication of what to expect is you decide to sell it.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Mark
