Hi There,

I have been collecting comics, Mainly Marvel, for over 30 years.
1/2 (about 2500 books from late 60s and 70s)of my collection was stolen in a home robery and my insurance company has not been able to find any company in Canada to establish the value of my stolen books, I gave them a detailed list 5 months ago. They are refusing to send a final payment until they can find an expert in Canada that can review my list and scans and cerify the value of the stolen books. Do you know of any Canadian experts that can help me?

Sorry to hear about this sad situation.  My best advice is to contact some stores in your area or elsewhere in Canada to see if they have anyone on staff who can assist you.  You are probably familiar with your local shops, but here is a link listing a lot of stores in Ontario:

There are some companies that do appraisals for insurance purposes, but I am not familiar with any specifically operating out of Canada.  I'm sure most would have wanted to appraise your comics beforehand as opposed to relying on scans after-the-fact, but they may still be willing to work with you.  Here's one site that pops up in a Google search, but I have no independent knowledge of their capabilities.
