Dear Chris  my father was going through some old papers and came across a Beano comic No1 July 1938 was this comic ever reprinted and is there any way to tell if it is the real comic. Brian

Hi Brian

I'm sorry to be sending you a very late reply.  Allexperts sends me an email when someone asks me a question, and I've just discovered that my Hotmail account has started sending those notification emails to my Junk Folder.

My knowledge of British comics is really pretty limited.  I did look around a little on the internet and found this link:

Based on the comments at the bottom, it appears that the Sunday Post did indeed reprint Beano #1, but you can differentiate by the page count.
