Comic books (Comics)/Gi Joe Comic
Expert: Chris Brown - 5/18/2010
QuestionHi,
i recently found a Gi Joe original 80's storyline issue 63# reprinted by "So Much Fun" and has Classic written on the cover which, so i have heard, is fairly rare. But the problem is that I cannot find it anywhere online. I have searched Ebay, Amazon, and also google but nothing very conclusive has turned up. So what im wondering is if this comic is actually rare and also if it is worth some money. The comic is in NM condition and not torn, bent, but has a little discoloring on a few pages and also some scuff marks on the cover which are barely visible even when under a bright light.
AnswerHi Sam
This comic is a little more recent than the period I am most knowledgeable about, but you piqued my interest so I poked around a little myself. According to one website, this is fairly rare for G.I. Joe comics, with only 5,000 copies made.

Here's another website that shows the other "So Much Fun" comics and prices they have fetched on eBay in the past. Unfortunately, the info doesn't seem to have been updated since 2007.

I looked on the Heritage website, on which you can see the results of all their past auctions, but apparently they have never auctioned off a "So Much Fun" comic. So you might just have to watch eBay for a while and see if any come up to get a sense of current interest. Or, if you're trying to sell, put yours up and see what people will bid for it.
