Question
Mr. Harmon, Every Hulk #1 I've seen has a dual image of Hulk and Bruce Banner. I have one that reads, Vol.1, No.1, Oct. 1968, king size special, Hulk battles the Inhumans. Could you tell me about this issue and the difference with the others I mentioned please. Thank You. Robert. p.s. I scanned the cover to my hard drive but it's over 9000kbs. to big to e-mail.

Answer
Hi Robert,

The Hulk #1 with the dual image you referred to is the first issue and appearance of the Incredible Hulk.  That particular issue came out in 1962 and is a highly sought after and valued comic book.  The current Near Mint value for that comic according to the Overstreet Price Guide is $23,000.

As you noted, the issue that you have is the King Size Special #1.  These giant-sized comics were usually published once or twice a year and the titles were eventually changed from "King Size Special" to "Annual".  A little bit easier to find and more affordable than the first appearance of the Hulk in Incredible Hulk #1, the King Size Special #1 is currently valued at $130 in Near Mint condition.

Hope this answered your question.  Let me know if you need any additional information.

Thanks,

Mark
